Dixons Academies Trust has vacancies for trustees. As we expand into new regions, we are especially seeking members and trustees who are based in Liverpool and Manchester and their environs, who represent a wide range of sectors including audit and risk, finance, education and public service.
With over 90% of our students and 30% of our staff, in several our academies, coming from a Black or Asian ethnic minority background, there is much to do for us to ensure fair representation, considering the make-up of the communities that we serve. Whilst equality is about ensuring that everyone has an equal chance of success; diversity is about recognising and valuing difference.
We know and appreciate that having a range of perspectives in decision-making, and our members and trustees being representative of the communities that it serves, makes us stronger and more successful.
With research confirming the importance of effective role models in improving student outcomes, how leaders behave is as important as the role they take on. This is one of the principles of public service.
